I have a really cute card involving bees and a very fun stamp set up over on the Papermilldirect blog this week. I created a card last week that I liked the style of so much I decided to CASE myself on it – that is copy it but change it up a little bit.
So I used this cute Woodware Bee Happy stamp set, some gorgeous card colours and came up with this. Head on over to the blog to see how I created it!
I think I had shared before that I am taking part in the Simply B Progressive challenges, and it is a real challenge to my colouring! But I am enjoying the challenge, particularly as there is usually a colour challenge/theme with each image, so it really pushes me. This was my card for May, using the May Blooms image. You can find more information on the progressive challenge on the Simply B Facebook Fan page. I am a bit behind on sharing these on my blog, but will hopefully catch up soon!
If you know me you know that I love all things bee related. So I couldn’t resist joining in on the Simply B progressive colouring challenge for March. It was this wonderful image and sentiment, which I just loved. I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils and flowed the challenge recipe – patterned paper, embossing, ribbon, black white and yellow – and the image of course!
You can see a side on of the card for the embossing and colouring here. There is some shimmer on her wings and the wings of all the bees, which you can just make out in this side on view.
I hope you like the image as much as I do. These progressive colouring challenges are really making me work on my colouring and getting me doing more and pushing me outside of my comfort zone, which is great!
I have this fun card up over on Papermilldirect blog, sharing some inspiration for the latest challenge.
For this card I used the adorable Tropical Squidgie image from Stamping Bella. I am being encouraged by a friend to challenge myself to colour more this year so I am breaking out the pencils more and getting more colouring onto my projects. I am even entering a few progressive colouring challenges! For this card I used my Polychromos Pencils, using the following colours:
- Hair: Green Gold / Brown Ochre / Burnt Sienna
- Glasses: Earth Green Yellowish / May Green / Cobalt Grey IV
- Pineapple Girl: Van Dyck Brown / Sanguine / Cadmium Orange
- Coconut: Brown Ochre / Van Dyck Brown
- Skin: Burnt Sienna / Medium Flesh / Light Flesh
I made this a bright and fun card to fit in with the challenge, but also the image is just fun and calls out for bright and cheery!
Here is a bit of a close up of the colouring. I added glossy accents to the glasses to make them really stand out and look like some really fun shades!
Anyway thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!
