Welcome to our new Sentimental Sundays challenge for this week. This week we are all about being Whimsical- with a sentiment of course! We are sponsored by A Day For Daisies.

ADFD Square Flower Button transparent

I used an adorable image called Dragon Gifts. I coloured it with my Inktense pencils and added some shimmer to the dragon and the fairy wings with perfect pearls. I am having great fun using my pencils and figuring out how how to get shading effects etc. But its fun practising!!

I fussy cut the image out – it took quite a while! I then glued the bottom of the image (the lower part of the grass strip) directly to the card base that I had inked up blue for sky. The rest of the image I raised up with foam dots to make it look like the grass, fairy and dragon were popping off the card….

Thanks for stopping by. Make sure to check out the rest of the design teams stunning creations!

  1. honey, i have a folder with your name on it and did!
the people’s work i love i do that with just so i can look at it another what software do you use nicole to do such a gorgeous piece of work and how come it looks SO hand pieced together.
i would NEVER think it was digitally made.
how did you learn to do digital work.
    i am dying to learn!
other than getting a digi, taking to work, printing and then carding…

as I mentioned, i love this card! the pearls on the wings are spectacular and add such a touch! i’ve not seen that before. i can just feel her leaning on the rock. the colors are sensational and so alive! she looks absolutely facinated. i love the little fleur on the other side of her. just precious! as all the fleurs beneath her.
