Show your distress..

No not your distress at increasing petrol/mortgage/food/electricity/general cost of life, but show distressing on your projects! Its what they want to see on Simon Says this week. Also there is a Home Decor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World that I am entering this into.

I have posted my project below in my Core’dinations post but am just splitting it out into here again so that the folk at Simon Says didn’t have to trawl through a huge big post!

This wall hanging started off as a plain wooden pot stand from Ikea believe it or not. I painted it a pale blue and started embellishing. I die cut the word Live from brown Core’dinations and embossed it with a damask embossing folder. I sanded the high point of it to show the lighter core. I also die cut a bookplate and flourish from the same paper. I also cut a heart frame. All these items were embossed and sanded and adhered to the frame. I then created two envelope style photo mats. These are held closed with a ribbon. When opened they pop open to show photos of your choice….

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

  1. Lovely wall hanging with so many wonderful elements. Great work with the embossed letters and the distressing. The wallet-type photo holders are a very cool idea! Terrific take on this week’s distressing challenge. So happy you joined in the fun with us this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show!

  2. Hey Nicole! Thanks for linking this up to the Home Decor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World in celebration of 350 Cards & Gifts Week! Good luck in the random drawing! 🙂
