Baby girl card….

My mum asked me recently to make a baby girl card for a friend of hers. She wanted the card personalised to the baby – Laura. I decided to take a photo that the father had sent to my mum and make it look like a Polaroid  photo.

I matted the papers on deep pink card and added some Wild Orchid Cherry blossoms. I also decorated the inside of the card, but forgot to take a photo of that!

Chipboard!

This week at Paper Play Challenges the theme is Chipboard – use chipboard on your project. We are kindly sponsored by Crafty Cutting. It is not actually my turn to play along with the design team this week, but I had this adorable mini album from Crafty Cutting so I just couldn’t resist!

I painted it pink and used some old Basic Grey papers to decorate it with, along with some flowers and embellishments. I have yet to add a title on it however. I covered the inside pages in a similar manner matting the BG papers in the centre. I also added some tags and extra non chipboard pages too. Very cleverly I forgot to take more pictures though :/

Make sure to check out the rest of the design teams creations, I love all the variety you can get with chipboard!

Lace and pearls

This week at Sentimental Sundays we are looking to see your projects using Lace and Pearls! We are sponsored by Saturated Canary and the design team got to pick out an image to work with. It was a tough decision as all the images are so adorable. I chose the Alice image, she is so cute!

My sentiment is tucked in behind the lace doily on a tag, here is a view of it….

The writing is on the mirror….

I painted this mirror a fantastic colour, its called Bamboo Leaf. Its a lovely shade of green that looks fantastic with gold. I embossed the script all over the mirror and added a hand made flower and some wild orchid flowers that I inked up and gold embossed the tips of them and added a flourish. I am quite happy with how it turned out, it looks fab in real life with all the gold shimmer on it!

I am going to enter this over at Simon Says where the theme is Anything Goes!

Critters Galore

This week at Paper Play Challenges we want to see Critters Galore. Break out those animal stamps and show us those cute critters! We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp – the prize is a $15 Voucher so get stamping and show us your projects!

Being a owner of two cute bunnies I had to go with a bunny image and broke out my Daisy & Dandelion set. I clear embossed the image after stamping and then coloured it with my watercolour pencils. In real life the colour does match the paper better than in the photo. I had great fun glimmer misting and inking cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid to match the project. Again in real life they match better. This really was not a good photography session on my behalf!

Make sure to head over to the Paper Play blog to check out the rest of the DT’s super cute work and join in the fun yourself too!

Fluttering by in blue

I had a play with another frame paint and stamps. I painted the frame a pale blue and then used the Annabelle stamps set All things grow to decorate it. I added two pearls to the butterflies bodies and then inked up two white cherry blossoms to match the colour. I just inked up a small scene to put into the frame, mostly just because I was having fun with the stamps :)

Teal again….

I decided to come back for some more teal paint punishment! I painted this cute little wooden box teal, and embellished with some wild orchid cherry blossoms (love these!!), skeleton leaves, a book plate made from the Tim Holtz die. It needed a bit of something extra though. Then in the post came a order from Cardz n Scraps which included this fantastic new La Blanche flourish stamp. It arrived, I inked it up straight away and I am hooked, it is definately my favourite stamp now! I only part stamped the stamp on the box just for a bit of the flourish detail.

I am going to enter this over at the Wild Orchid Challenge blog – the theme is anything goes. Appropriate as I think anything does go with Wild Orchid flowers :) I am also entering in to Bunny Zoes challenge of Flowers Everywhere.

When is teal not teal?….

When is teal not teal?….When the camera wont co-operate!! Even with a good camera, a light box and plenty of messing around in Photoshop I just can not get the teal on this card to look like it does in real life. In real life the teal pops wonderfully off the white  giving the perfect balance between colour and white space. Here it just looks blah!

I used a strip of masking tape for the stripe along the side and painted it with the same teal acrylic paint I used on the butterfly and the white Wild Orchid cherry blossoms. I even stamped the sentiment using the teal paint – that was surprisingly difficult! Overall in real life this card makes me smile. The photo of it makes me sigh though :( Thats just life I guess though!!

Anyway I am entering this into the Wild Orchid Anything Goes challenge on this week, they have an amazing prize up for grabs, make sure you check it out. Also because I have used decorative tape on this it fits into the Moxie Fab World Get Daring With Decorative Tape challenge

The best made plans….

The best made plans just always seem to fall through when you least want them to. Today I was supposed to be a crafty crop and then out for a friends birthday. However a horrendous cold scuppered my plans and I have spend the day going through a box of tissues and feeling miserable. I decided to cheer myself up and headed to my craft room for a little while. Over at Wild Orchid Challenge this week there is a fabulous challenge for us to try out, and as always there is an amazing prize up for grabs! I am still working off scraps on my desk, and most of them are currently Graphic 45 scraps and die cuts. I used a selection of these on the card and used my newly purchased Wild Orchid vintage seam binding and adorable cherry blossoms (absolutely LOVE these cherry blossoms!!!!).

Right, that’s me done, im back to the couch with a blanket, a snuggly bunny, and a hot honey and lemon. I hope all your weekends are going better than mine!!

PS: I am also entering this in the Bunny Zoe challenge – flowers everywhere and to Simon Says Stamp where they want to see you use the colours coffee and cream!!

Simon says show a tag..

Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show this week they want to see a tag. I had great fun with this one. I got to use my new Tim Holts tag and book plate die. I used it to cut the tag shape. I then embossed and inked to my hearts content. I inked the butterflies with TH distress inks and stamped with a TH script stamp. I used the TH cage die and placed the butterflies on it. I added some lace trim on the bottom and some G45 butterfly paper to the top of the tag. I added some bling to the bird cage and also to the butterfly bodies. Some Wild Orchid cherry blossoms and a feather were the finishing touch. Hope you like it!!
