Frame it!

This week at Sentimental Sundays we want you to Frame it - use a frame on your projects & make sure you include a sentiment as always. We are kindly sponsored this week by Pink Cat Studio. I used their adorable Love Birds On Swing image.

I had to get a bit creative with my frame. I made it using my Nestabilities dies, but it was actually too long for the image. So rather than re-printing and re-colouring it I cut the die cut  frame at the two side points. I trimmed a bit off and then glued it back together. Hopefully it looks ok The things you will do to try and avoid having to re-do work!

Golf card?!

A friend commissioned me to make a birthday card for her future father in law. She gave me the following instructions ‘just a generic birthday verse and golfy theme’. I have a stack of DoCraft masculine papers and this paper was in it. As  soon as I saw it I thought it was perfect for golf. It matches all those, ahem, ‘lovely’ golf clothes that golfers so like to wear! I kept it quite simple as the papers are quite bold. Hopefully my friend approves of it anyway.

How organised am I, card ready already. Good thing my dad is not a internet person and hopefully should not pop by and see this early! I printed the image and cut it out and stuck it onto raised foam pads, and put it back together to give a brick wall effect. Dont know how well it worked, but im happy enough with the result I guess!

Acer

I do love the colour of this acer plant/tree. My parents were clearing out their garden and kindly dumped it on me The only problem is that the bunnies seem to love it also, grrr!

Bring on the sun

No that all the snow is gone and the rain is back, all I want is summer. Preferably an actual summer with heat and sunshine, and not the usual Irish summer of a hour of sunshine and then rain for the rest of it!

Snowy roots..

The snow continues in Ireland. We had more snow fall last night and as a result our airport is closed – again. The police are telling people not to travel, the schools are closed for nearly a week and we are starting to run low on water supplies, not to mention salt and grit. You would imagine we had no warning about this weather wouldn’t you? Especially since a milder version of it happened last year, and the met office warned us before the first snow hit. Go figure!

Where is the snow?

For the last three days the Met office have been threatening snow. A whole 5cm of it. Wow. I wish it would hurry up and arrive, I do like the snow!

Icy cold

It went down to minus 11 in some parts of Ireland last nigh. It is not supposed  to make it above freezing today. What a perfect day to stay in bed

Nature obviously subscribes to chaos theory, not one of these trees was growing straight or keeping to its own space. Incidentally heres a good article on chaos theory using Jurassic Park to help explain it!
