Ice and Snow

Ice and Snow is the theme of the WOW Embossing Powders challenge this month. You can see all the challenge details here. The challenge is to use Ice Blues and Snow Whites on your project.

I made a tag on which I stamped a forest Hero Arts stamp. I then used a Versamagic pen to add ‘snow’ to the branches and the ground. I used Blue Glitz EP and White Twinkle for my colours. I added a die cut shape that I embossed with the Blue Glitz.

It sure was hard to photograph all that sparkle!!

Snow, blue and glitter!!

This weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundays is the theme of Snow, Blue and/or glitter – plus a sentiment. We are sponsored this week by the fantastic Bugaboo Stamps. I used the adorable Winter Circle Sentiments – Warm Wishes image from Bugaboo. I love this image, it is so cute!

I had fun with my card and layered strips of blue and white paper that had been edged with a boarder punch. All my papers were glimmer misted with diamond glimmer mist for my glitter! And then of course my image that I coloured with water pencils and some glimmer glitter pen!

Make sure to head over to the Sentimental Sundays blog and check out the rest of the design teams work. They are all so creative and all their work is just fantastic. Then once you are done getting inspired then make sure to join in our challenge!!

Day 4!!

Day 4 already, can you believe! Today’s tag from Tim can be seen here. Its a beauty!!

I really enjoyed the colours of today’s tag, blue is my favourite colour! I luckily had a die cut of the snowman from when I did a die swap last year. So I inked up a background, crackled the snowman and added some snowflakes. If you dont have the snowman die you could always make your own snowman using a circle punch. Simply punch out two or three circles and stack one on top of the other as you would if making a real snow man!

This was a nice and fun tag to make. Lots of inking, stickling and generally getting inky, what more could you ask for :)

Day 8..

Day 8 already..the days are flying by! Tims tag can be seen here. My tag looks nothing like Tim’s tag, but I used the masking techniques and the little houses. Oh and I painted my houses green too, and added a key charm. So its kinda similar! I adore this little house die. I dont actually own the die but Timi was very kind and let me use hers to stock up on some dies from it. Thanks so much Timi!! There is lots of shimmer in this tag, but it didnt photograph too great – as always.

I’m linking up to Arty Jen for the 12 tags splinter group. I am also linking to Simon Says Stamp and Show where the challenge is A Holiday Greeting. I am also linking up to the Crafty Alley Ning where we are all sharing our tags :)

Advent calendar….

I decided last weekend to make an advent calendar. I was going through ideas for styles for what I wanted and decided on one. I got a frame, removed the glass, got out my mod podge and the Bo bunny papers from the Crafty Alley kit and got to work. I was using chipboard numbers for on the tags and realised I did not have enough, so I placed an order for more with Cardz n scrapz. They deliver next day, which was going to be perfect for the calendar. However, then it started snowing, and as a result I have not yet received my extra numbers! I am ok up to the 11th for the moment at least :) But hurry up mister postman!!

The photo isn’t the best (see my previous post today complaining about that!) so you cant see some of the details in it. Firstly the frame is a lovely cream colour, not white as it looks here. Secondly, the berries and ornaments have been treated with glossy accents so they have a raised, dimensional look.

All the tags hang on red and silver star shaped brads that I painstakingly hot glued on. The tags have been kept fairly simple, just the gold painted numbers  on the front. When you turn the tag over there are snowflakes stamped on the back. It works great so far. Hopefully it is something that will last us for a while. Now in the mean time keep your fingers crossed my postman turns up so I can fully finish it!

I am entering this over at Simon Says Stamp and Show. They say show a tag. Well here you go – have a look at 25 of them! :D

Spring?

I don’t tend to much like spring as a season. Its generally too wet and windy for my liking. I am however liking all the snow, I could get used to a spring like this every year :)

Bring on the sun

No that all the snow is gone and the rain is back, all I want is summer. Preferably an actual summer with heat and sunshine, and not the usual Irish summer of a hour of sunshine and then rain for the rest of it!
