Just for fun!

It has been a while since I got to craft for a challenge! I couldn’t resist cutting into the new papers I got for my birthday and making something with them. I used the Waltzing Mouse challenge sketch for this one, you can see it here. I used a WMS sentiment and a little heart stamp from one of the sentiment sets for on my banner. I threaded some ribbon through the card to use the existing banner on the paper and added some bling to the hearts & butterfly. Other than that all the detail on the card are the papers, which is very unusual for me! Even the dimensional butterfly is cut from the papers.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Gone dotty….

The sketch challenge over at Skipping Stones Designs had me stumped for a bit. All those squares, no square punch or die and I lack the ability to draw and cut out tonnes of squares. My mojo was packing its bags and walking out the door refusing to play along. It threw me a parting shot as it was on its way out – ‘If you had of used circles I would have played along’.

So I promptly pulled out my sole circle punch and begged Mr.Mojo to come back. (Does everyone else consider their mojo male? I think there is plenty of evidence to say it is – stubborn, cranky when you ask it to do something, packs up and walks out when you need it most, lazy at times and leaves a mess everywhere it works!). Right enough ranting, here are the results of Mr.Mojo and I kissing and making up!

I used kraft card as the base and some basic grey purple paper. I punched the circles on a purple card stock and stamped the butterflies from the Dandelion Dreams SSD set. I used the Sentiment Frames set for the sentiment and frame, cut it out and adhered with dimensional foam. Everything was stamped in teal ink, the photo doesn’t pick that up great though :/ I hand cut a butterfly and gave it a pattern using the Grunge SSD set and added some ribbon and purple gems and popped it up on dimensional foam.

9th time lucky….

Its 9 times in a row now using the same set for the sketch challenge at Skipping Stones Designs! I wish the post man would hurry up and deliver the sets I have ordered & won from them, as much as I love the Funny Coffee set one can only have so many coffee themed cards in ones stash :D The sketch was a real challenge for me this week (stamp issue aside), as I am not great at multi layered cards. But I loved the look of the sketch and what the DT did with it so I just had to give it a try! Here is the sketch….

Photobucket

And here is my attempt….

Ahem. As I said, I am not great at multi layered cards. I am feeling rotten this weekend so back to bed with me for a while before heading out to a family meal. Happy crafting Sunday people!

Sketch challenge

Over at Skipping Stones Designs they have a fab sketch to follow. A free stamp set is up for grabs to a lucky winner that joins the sketch challenge so well worth a try!!

Photobucket

Here is my entry. Very poor photo, it didnt seem to want to photograph properly at all :/ The card stock base was a white pearlescent that I embossed and inked up a bit and the ink I stamped with was silver, I think it was all too shimmery for the camera to handle!!

A little latte….

The sketch over at Skipping Stones Designs this week was very cute and I intended all week to join in and try out the sketch. Now here I am with 7 hours to spare, at 9.30 at night and I have just gotten a chance to make something for it! So rather appropriately I decided to make a belated birthday card as it is really something I should have in my card stocks, right! So here is my entry..

Just to make it a bit more interesting I jazzed up the inside a bit too..

Right, thats me done and off to bed, its been a long few days! Night all!!

Bling!!

The challenge over at Annabelle Stamps blog today is  a sketch to follow but make sure you add BLING! I didnt have much time with this card but I tried making it as blinging as I could as I could. I used glittery sparkly paper from my linen closet paper stack. I used my new Tim Holtz on the edge die and painted the die cut strip with my silver shimmer sparkle paint. I stamped my sentiment and flower and went over them in the same shimmer sparkle paint. I then added some crystals in the holes of the scalloped strip. Its about as sparkly and glittery as I get, not my usual style, but its nice to try something different every now and again. Its hard to photo the glittery paper well but you get the idea!

Sketch and stash challenge 38

I made this following the layout over at Sketch and stash for challenge 38. I loved this layout.  Everything on the card was either scraps or from my stash, especially the butterfly ribbon, I love it so much but kept hoarding it instead of using it!

PS: Check out the scrumptious blog candy going over at The Stamping Botique, wowsa!!

Sketch and stash….

This is my entry for the Sketch and Stash challenge no 37 over here. The pink papers are my new papers from the Crafty Alley June Kit and the stamps were from AC Sentiments also from Crafty Alley. The corrugated card, butterfly ribbon and pink ribbon on the tag are from my stash. The tag is removable and the sentiment will go on here when its dry enough to stamp on again. It was made from plain cream card stamped on in two different colour inks. I have edged it in baby pink liquid pearls, but they didnt cone out so great in the image :( Anyhoo, hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Pretty in pink – and chocolate!

This is my entry for the challenge over at The Crafty Alley.  It is based on a wonderful sketch by Michelle. It is my first time ever to make a card based on a sketch, and only my 2nd ever challenge entered. I have very few stamps so I used a free digi image – Ruby’s got chocolate – from Bugaboo stamps over on Split Coast Stampers.

I have been making cards for years but never realised there was such an enthusiastic and friendly community online who love to share ideas and inspire others. Its certainly making me up my game!!
