There is a new sketch challenge up at Annabelle stamps and its a lovely CAS one….
I recently won two adorable stamp sets and one of the sets had coordinating dies too. (Thank you Andrea!!) The set I have used on my card below is the adorable Easter Chickadee set and the coordinating dies for this set is the Easter Chickadee die set.
I inked a card base with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and stamped two stamps from the set to create a background. I then 3D mounted a white woodgrain embossed panel on the card front. On this I used a black strip with white stamping for my sentiment. The little chicks were die cut from yellow card then stamped. I love how easy this is! I added 3 purple Annabelle Stamps gems under this for a pop of colour contrast.
Here is a side view shot to try show off the woodgrain paper a bit better….its hard stuff to photograph!
Thanks for stopping by today!
This week at Sentimental Sundays we are challenging you to Show your Spots – and include a sentiment. We have an added bonus for you this week however. You must follow the weekly theme, but if you use the BONUS provided, you get to enter your entry twice. This week the entry is a sketch. The sketch was designed by me too, I hope people like it!
We are kindly sponsored by Doodle Pantry this week. I used their adorable Watermelon Lunch set on my card. I used the image and their matching digi papers too.
And here is my take on my own sketch!
Make sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog to check out the rest of the teams super cute projects!
Just a super quick post from me here!! Over at Skipping Stones Designs its sketch number 99! Here is the sketch:
And here is my interpretation of the sketch!!
I love the Funny Coffee set. I made the coffe sleeves and the backing strip on the card with an actual coffee sleeve, yay for recycling!!
The latest sketch is up over at Skipping Stones Designs and as a running trend I am leaving it to quite last minute to get my entry in ;p
I enjoyed this one! I got my colour scheme inspiration from some clay roses I had just made. Its lovely shimmery clay too, I really like it. I used the Sentimental Frames set and the text from the grunge set for my frame. I used the grunge background stamp on the white card too (it didnt photo too well, sorry!. And voilà….
I have been so busy lately with my online crafting magazine I have not been getting much time to enter the challenges I usually enter. But tonight I got to have some time crafting – mostly because I was fasting for some tests and so didnt have to waste precious time eating dinner ;p I went with the Annabelle Stamps Bling Sketch challenge and had fun getting inky!
I create the DP myself using red card stock and a small star stamp. I then embossed the guitar and cut it out and mounted on pop dots. I embossed the sentiment also, I love how it pops against the black. I added a torn strip of tissue tape to keep with the sketch. I changed the bling to be in the 4 corners of my black centre panel.
Busy bee, thats me this week. We have been doing up the hall, stairs & landing in the house and it seems to be taking every moment of our holiday from work this week. I have been exhausted at the end of each day and my hands have been so sore from painting that I have not gone into my craft room much at all! However this morning I got up a bit earlier and decided to play along with the sketch challenge at Skipping Stones Designs. The sketch is fantastic and I couldn’t wait to try it out. Here is my quick card….
I used the Grunge set for the background, Sentiment frames set for the sentiment and frame and Heartsong for the butterfly. I used a pale purple circle die cut from my scrap pile and a purple strip of card also from the scrap pile, so it was a nice quick and simple card and I enjoyed making it. It was straight back to the grindstone in the hall after this one :/ The plumber is coming tomorrow to install my beautiful new radiator, then we can put the floor back down and start finishing up on it all, phew!
PS: It was a great morning this morning to discover two of my projects had been featured in two different places – The Graphics Fairy DIY and Scrap Mix - thanks guys
For 9 challenges in a row now I have entered the Skipping Stones sketch challenge with the same set – Funny Coffee. While I do love this set it was getting quite challenging trying to use it sketch after sketch! Luckily the postman finally arrived with some new SSD stamping goodies I used the super sketch for this weeks challenge created by Laurie Schmidlin, its a keeper of a sketch!!
I used the Grunge set on this card. I stamped the wood grain stamp from the set onto my card base. I then used one of the other stamps to stamp a pattern on the green card stock and also onto the corrugated card heart. I used the Thanks sentiment from the grunge set too. I used the adorable butterflies from the Dandelion Dreams set too. I had great fun with this sketch and getting me new stamps all inky – its makes up for making it at 7am on a day off because I just couldn’t make myself sleep in!
