Colour challenge fun!

This week at PaperPlay Challenges we have a fun colour challenge for you.  We are kindly sponsored by Waltzing Mouse Stamps too with a stamp set up for grabs!! The colours we want you to work with are - Greenpink & cream. Now I am not a very pink and green and cream girly crafter as you may have noticed. After some slagging from Sandie  one of the queens of pink and girly I told her I was going to make a grungy pink and green project. And this is what happened….

I took a cream tag and splattered it with lemongrass glimmer mist and then green and pink inks. I then stamped the skyline in walnut stain distress ink and inked the edges of the tag with this too. I stamped some stars (my pink ink was too pale to see as stars so I had to use a purply one!) and added a hot air balloon. I cut out a banner, stamped my sentiment and added a teeny star on it to match. I then used a stapler to attach this to the card. I crumpled some pink seam binding and dragged it though some diluted walnut stain to distress in.

It is as grungy as I could make pink and green and cream. I would like to dedicate this one to Sandie ;p

Pink with love….

Emboss, stamp, ink and tie bow and a mothers day card is complete. I love when things come together so fast!

Oh and have a look at the sneaky shot of my bunnies I managed to get, excuse the bad quality of the photo, the light was very bad and the camera settings were not right but I didnt get a chance to take a better picture. The bunnies have taken a bit of a shine to all my paints for some reason….

Gone potty in pink..

I created this slider card for a challenge a while back but never got around to posting it. I created a plant pot template and created the pot base using this. The slider inset simply pulls out to reveal a gift card inside. You can write your message on the back or give a separate card. I just thought it was a fun way to give someone a little gift card. I had a tonne of pink flowers hence the pink theme, but of course I could have made it any colour really. I love the little sentiment on the wire, its so cute :)

Speaking of cute, have you seen all the new Maya road goodies on offer? Check them out here, pure yumminess!!

Popsicles and Pinwheels

This was made for The Shabby Tea Room week 16 challenge. The theme was Popsicles and Pinwheels and the colours hot pink, bright green and cool turquoise and inspired by this image. I am not very happy with how the photos turned out, you cant see some of the stamped detail very well :( I promise it is there though!! The flower on the front of the card was made following a template found here. The flower is turquoise and green on the outside (some old wrapping paper I hoarded) and hot pink on the inside (a wall paper sample, again hoarded!). I hope you like it!

Sketch and stash challenge 38

I made this following the layout over at Sketch and stash for challenge 38. I loved this layout.  Everything on the card was either scraps or from my stash, especially the butterfly ribbon, I love it so much but kept hoarding it instead of using it!

PS: Check out the scrumptious blog candy going over at The Stamping Botique, wowsa!!

Sketch and stash….

This is my entry for the Sketch and Stash challenge no 37 over here. The pink papers are my new papers from the Crafty Alley June Kit and the stamps were from AC Sentiments also from Crafty Alley. The corrugated card, butterfly ribbon and pink ribbon on the tag are from my stash. The tag is removable and the sentiment will go on here when its dry enough to stamp on again. It was made from plain cream card stamped on in two different colour inks. I have edged it in baby pink liquid pearls, but they didnt cone out so great in the image :( Anyhoo, hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

I <3 my Big Shot….

I had a wonderful weekend down in Killarney. One of the best parts was doing some damage to the credit card in a trip to Crafty Alley :) One f my favorite purchases was my Big Shot…. love it so much! The card above was made using it – the hearts, rectangle and tag (Also used the wonderful June kit too – love it!). It was such a novelty to be able to have 9 hearts cut out in less than 5mins. Before all that would have been done by hand and taken a long time! The card was made for a friend of my mum. They just had twin baby girls, hence the “New Babies” plural!

Pretty in pink – and chocolate!

This is my entry for the challenge over at The Crafty Alley.  It is based on a wonderful sketch by Michelle. It is my first time ever to make a card based on a sketch, and only my 2nd ever challenge entered. I have very few stamps so I used a free digi image – Ruby’s got chocolate – from Bugaboo stamps over on Split Coast Stampers.

I have been making cards for years but never realised there was such an enthusiastic and friendly community online who love to share ideas and inspire others. Its certainly making me up my game!!
