Flags, banners & pennants….

This week at PaperPlay Challenges we are looking for projects with flags, banners or pennants  on them! We are kindly sponsored by Digi Darla Designs. I used the adorable Circus Elephant image on my card.

I made the mistake of colouring my image first and then struggled to find papers that matched. It turned out very bright and vibrant but I think I like it! I made banners for my sentiment and the backing of it, and then used toothpicks to make the little flags. My sentiment and the pattern on the flags is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps….

For men!

This week at PaperPlay Challenges we want you to create Cards for Men – using twine. We are sponsored this week by The Ribbon Girl, with a prize of a gorgeous green mini kit….

Now for my project I did not read the instructions very well. I read card for men with twine. I went off and a few days later sat down to do my project. The theme had turned itself into projects for men using twine in my head. So I made an mini notebook. Not a card! But it is for a man and uses twine! I tore some paper, stamped some clock faces and distressed everything with Walnut Stain distress ink. I then added a twine closure with a brad to wrap it around to keep it closed.

Double Delight

This week at PaperPlay Challenges our challenge is Double Delight. We want you to use two of something on your project. We are sponsored this week by In 2 Stamps.

I created a clean and simple vintage wedding card. A mind boggling combo but you have to do what you are asked right?!

The lovely Prima papers took care of the vintage aspect. I then kept it very simple with a die cut stamped with a sentiment. My double delight is the two butterflies with a touch of bling.

Chipboard!

This week at Paper Play Challenges the theme is Chipboard – use chipboard on your project. We are kindly sponsored by Crafty Cutting. It is not actually my turn to play along with the design team this week, but I had this adorable mini album from Crafty Cutting so I just couldn’t resist!

I painted it pink and used some old Basic Grey papers to decorate it with, along with some flowers and embellishments. I have yet to add a title on it however. I covered the inside pages in a similar manner matting the BG papers in the centre. I also added some tags and extra non chipboard pages too. Very cleverly I forgot to take more pictures though :/

Animal Antics

This week at Paper Play Challenges our challenge is called Animal Antics. We want you to use your little animal stamps! We are sponsored this week by Whiff of Joy.

I used a cute little raccoon stamp and die cut a circle from red card to let him peek out. The red card was embossed with a brick embossing folder and my sentiment was added on a banner. The raccoon was coloured with Inktense pencils.

Spring Colours

I don’t have any Whiff of Joy stamps so I made an image-less project instead. I altered a small notebook using green papers that just reminded me of spring so much!

Recycle It….

This week at Paper Play Challenges we are challenging you to recycle something or use something from around the house. We are kindly sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts.

I recycled lots of things on my card. Firstly my background paper is the inside of a cardboard sleeve from a Kindle. The shipping tag is recycled from one I received on something, and the ribbon on it is also a reused ribbon. The tissue paper strip is recycled from some padding from a handbag I had bought.

I had fun using up all those things we crafters tend to hoard knowing they will come in useful at some stage. The hoarding has been justified on this card

Lovely lace..

Its Thursday and that means PaperPlay Challenge day!!This week we are sponsored by In2Stamps with a €10 voucher up for grabs!

Our theme this week is Lovely Lace. We want to see you using lace on your projects. I don’t tend to use lace very often on my projects so this was a bit of a challenge for me. However I found some lace trim and a paper lace doily and went from there.

I added a bit of a vintage touch by stamping on red cardstock with a vintage damask stamp and covered a die cut butterfly with vintage script tissue tape. Is anyone else as addicted to tissue tape as I am? I seriously have to curb my use of it as I don’t want my limited stash of it to run out, but I just love the stuff! The heart the butterfly is mounted onto is red felt, that didn’t show up too well in the photo :/

I unfortunately did not get to use one of the adorable images from La La Land Crafts as life just got in the way and there was no time for colouring etc. I did however alter some tiles by inking them to distress them and stamping on them….
