Ok so its technically a bad photo, but trust me, we laughed and laughed and laughed when I said I was stopping to take a picture of a window full of micky!! (Im still laughing!)

Building on ruins

How cool is this building in Galway. When digging the foundations for it they discovered the ruins of a old Celtic building. So what did they do? What you see above, they incorporated the ruins into the design of the building. They found the ruins of a viking town when building in Dublin city, and what did they do? Gave some archaeologists a few months to excavate what they could, then dug it all up and cemented over it. Dont worry about our history, or the roots of our culture. A few hundred fancy apartments for bankers was more important. Bah!!
