The best made plans….

The best made plans just always seem to fall through when you least want them to. Today I was supposed to be a crafty crop and then out for a friends birthday. However a horrendous cold scuppered my plans and I have spend the day going through a box of tissues and feeling miserable. I decided to cheer myself up and headed to my craft room for a little while. Over at Wild Orchid Challenge this week there is a fabulous challenge for us to try out, and as always there is an amazing prize up for grabs! I am still working off scraps on my desk, and most of them are currently Graphic 45 scraps and die cuts. I used a selection of these on the card and used my newly purchased Wild Orchid vintage seam binding and adorable cherry blossoms (absolutely LOVE these cherry blossoms!!!!).

Right, that’s me done, im back to the couch with a blanket, a snuggly bunny, and a hot honey and lemon. I hope all your weekends are going better than mine!!

PS: I am also entering this in the Bunny Zoe challenge – flowers everywhere and to Simon Says Stamp where they want to see you use the colours coffee and cream!!

Crafty Christmas….

I finished work for the holidays on Friday and it seems like I have been making stuff every day since! Here are a few of the cards I have made so far, plenty more have been made and cant go up here, or else just havnt been photographed yet!!

This first one I am entering over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, the theme is Yesteryear. I love how old and vintage this card looks, but yet at the same time is simple enough to fit in a normal envelope and be mailed!!

Thanks for looking, I hope you are all having super crafty time before Christmas!!

And so it continues….

More snow last night and freezing temperatures. Even more ice on the roads today. Ugh. I am back to work today after the Christmas holidays. I get the joy of standing in the freezing cold waiting for a bus to turn up a hour or so late. I wish we could all just stay wrapped up in our duvets until it all the cold goes away!

Footpath closed….

Footpath closed due to flooding, eh? Interesting looking flooding. Maybe they just didnt see the need to have a footpath closed due to snow sign. Just like we seem to think we have no need to stock enough grit to keep our roads clear when we get cold weather!

Icy cold

It went down to minus 11 in some parts of Ireland last nigh. It is not supposed  to make it above freezing today. What a perfect day to stay in bed :)

Frosty

The Big Freeze continues. Except its getting warmer again. No longer down to -8 but only to -3. It definately feels much milder today. On the down side it means no more icy grass to stomp on :(  But my garden table was still frozen, and looking mighty cool (seriously no pun intended!).

PS: Its Christmas Eve, yay!!

Depressing….

Winter is so depressing. Its cold, wet, icy and miserable. On the plus side I get to wear my collection of hats. Not much of a plus really, but when its dark when you get up for work and its dark when you get home for work you have to try get some happiness somewhere!!

Imagination….

As I sit writing this I am wrapped in my duvet with the heating on. Its still cold.

So I am pretending that I am back sitting on this balcony in Mauritius, watching the exotic sun set over the sea. Its a balmy 24 degrees, with a warm breeze whispering through the tropical foliage. The waves are crashing gently on the shore, a calming, soothing noise. Brilliantly coloured tropical birds are singing and music is playing softly somewhere in the back ground. As I sit on the balcony with my husband, a glass of champagne in hand I think how wonderful it is, how warm, relaxing, peaceful and perfect.

Wish you were here too?!!
