Cute Hedgehog….

I got all crafty over the weekend and tried to focus on using up a pile of scraps on my desk. I also had some pre-coloured images on my desk too. So this little mini card was super easy to make. I cut the image out and mounted it on a scrap of blue card. I then mounted this on the orange card made into a card base. The sentiment was already stamped on another scrap and I mounted it on a scrap of green paper. I added a little doodle around the edges for a bit more interest and called it done! The image i used is the adorable Hedgie the Hedgehog image from 2 Cute Ink.

The hedgehog body is actually mounted on foam pads as is the flower and the grass is glued directly down. This gives a nice bit of dimension detail. It made for fussy cutting though!

Fall….

This week at Sentimental Sundays we are creating Fall/Autumn inspired projects. We are kindly sponsored by Fred She Said designs.

FSS Logo

Our Bonus this week is a colour scheme: Golden Brown, Yellow, Cranberry, Olive Green and White. If you use our bonus you get to enter your project in twice.

I tried to match the colours as best as I could using my inks. I can’t find my leaf stamp so I used a doily stamp instead. I stamped it in golden brown and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then inked over it in wild honey, festive berries, and forest moss distress inks. I mounted this onto a white card blank. I then use the Pumpkin Bouquet image from Fred She Said. I coloured it with my Inktense pencils to match my background and added a sentiment and some seam binding.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Challenge

Market Street Stamps are having yet another fantastic challenge – create a birthday or anniversary card using their stamps to help them celebrate their birthday :) I am in a bit of a clean and simple mood with my cards lately and MSS allow me to make super quick and easy cards with minimal fuss because of their fantastic background stamps, love it :)

I used the vintage wallpaper stamp on this one, I just love the effect it gives to projects!

Use black

This week at Paper Play Challenges we would like yo see you use Black in your projects. We are sponsored by Waltzing Mouse Stamps for this.

I decided to embrace the black theme and created a black card base and stamped directly onto it with silver ink using a zebra print stamp. I die cut a label and stamped the sentiment and silver embossed it. It is one of the Waltzing Mouse Say It Loud sentiments – I absolutely love this set, it makes every card pop! I added some bling at the bottom of the card for a bit more pop. I then discovered how hard it is to take a photo of all the shimmer and bling on a black card!

Make sure you head over to the blog to check out the rest of the DT’s fantastic work and link up your projects using black!!

Flying by….

There is a fantastic new sketch up at Skipping Stones this week. I have been so busy but the sketch was so CAS and lovely I had to give myself some time out and plat along!

Photobucket

I moved the flower elements (after turning them into birds) so that they were at an angle. I then replaced the sentiment with a ribbon and went with a sentiment on the inside only. You would imagine with such a simple sketch I would have been able to follow it to the letter….I have never been good at doing what I am told though ;p

Amore!

I received a pack of Core’dinations Core Amore in the post today and I just had to play with it straight away! I decided to use the Skipping Stones Designs sketch. I went for a masculine feel on it, using the SSD Grunge set for the background on one of my pieces. I used Dandelion Dreams on another piece. I use the sentiment and ink splodge from the Grunge set also. I added a brad from my stash and 2 diamond gems that I coloured black. I love core’dinations paper, I always have so much fun sanding it. I think it looks great with the SSD stamp on it too.

10th times a charm!!

For 9 challenges in a row now I have entered the Skipping Stones sketch challenge with the same set – Funny Coffee. While I do love this set it was getting quite challenging trying to use it sketch after sketch! Luckily the postman finally arrived with some new SSD stamping goodies :) I used the super sketch for this weeks challenge created by Laurie Schmidlin, its a keeper of a sketch!!

I used the Grunge set on this card. I stamped the wood grain stamp from the set onto my card base. I then used one of the other stamps to stamp a pattern on the green card stock and also onto the corrugated card heart. I used the Thanks sentiment from the grunge set too. I used the adorable butterflies from the Dandelion Dreams set too. I had great fun with this sketch and getting me new stamps all inky – its makes up for making it at 7am on a day off because I just couldn’t make myself sleep in!

Sketch challenge

Over at Skipping Stones Designs they have a fab sketch to follow. A free stamp set is up for grabs to a lucky winner that joins the sketch challenge so well worth a try!!

Photobucket

Here is my entry. Very poor photo, it didnt seem to want to photograph properly at all :/ The card stock base was a white pearlescent that I embossed and inked up a bit and the ink I stamped with was silver, I think it was all too shimmery for the camera to handle!!

Have a flaming good birthday..

I have had this super cute dragon stamp for a while and wanted to use him so decided to make a birthday card with him. I coloured him using one of my Christmas presents – Staedtler Fineliner markers.  I use part of a flourish die cut coloured orange for flames and put the dragon on pop dots to make him stand out a bit. I think the hole that he burned through the card stands out more – naughty dragon :D

I am entering this in the challenge over at Moxie Fab World where they want to see you stamping images and colouring them with markers. They have an amazing prize up for grabs so check it out!!

I am also entering it in the Annabelle stamps Say it with Polka Dots challenge. My dots are quite subtle but are there on my purple card stock!

Say it in chocolate blue and pink….

The challenge over at Annabelle Stamps is to say it in chocolate, blue and pink. I am back working on my scraps pile again and luckily there was some chocolate card stock and a scrap of blue . I even had a pre cut pink butterfly too!! I used one of the sentiments from the Annabelle ‘All things grow’ set and added two sprinkles to the butterfly to add some bling. Now if you excuse me, all this mention of chocolate has me wanting to go and have some!!
