Splash!

There is a fun challenge up at 2 Cute Ink today. The challenge is to create something using the cute new ifrogger image. You can see all the details on this freebie image here. Look how cute it is!

I had fun altering a little notebook with my image….

I coloured the image with Inktense pencils and distress inks for the background. I added glossy accents to the frogs eyes and the spots on his body for some dimension. I also added glossy accents on the flies wings too.ifrogger 1

I love this sentiment and I thought it went well with the image. I used greens and browns and then added the pop of orange for my ‘splash’ of colour! Thanks for stopping by and make sure you join in the fun challenge!!

I am entering this over at the Simon Says Challenge which is A Bit O’Green!

Sewing Cat!

Today is new release day at 2 Cute Ink! The new adorable image today is the Sewing Kitty image. I altered a small notebook for my project. I digitally paper pieced my cat image and matted this on coloured DP. I then covered the notebook in coordinating DP and matted my image onto this. I added some faux stitching, some bling and some little flags tucked under the image.

I love the fun effect digital paper piecing gives!

Fireworks and bright colours!

This week at the Sarah Hurley Designs Challenge Blog we have our new monthly challenge up. We want to see Fireworks and Bright Colours! I created a notebook using the fantastic Curio Kit. I printed onto the outside and inside of the cover pages. I then filled the notebook with lots of different coloured pages (and different sizes too) and bound it all with a borrowed Bind It All (thank you Timi!!). It is a firework of colour!! I created the cover by digitally layering some elements from the kit over some of the papers. I also added some digital firework bursts onto the papers. This makes for a very fun and colourful notebook!

Shine On….

This week at PaperPlay Challenges we want you to “Shine On” – use something shiny, sparkly or glossy on your project. We are kindly sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this week….

Simon Says Stamp
(Please note: This is a voucher code that entitles the winner to a $15 saving off their order in Simon Says Stamp,  P+P charges will still apply unless the conditions are met to earn free P+P,  please check here if you would like to see these conditions)
For my card I dove into my scrap pile and pulled out a lot of pink and purple papers. (For some reason the pink patterned paper is coming out a bit orange in photos, but it is a baby pink colour!) So I used these all matted onto a white card base. I then stamped an image, coloured it with pink and purple colouring pencils and then added glitter all over it. I added a bit more bling and called it done!

I had enough of the scraps left over to alter a notebook to go with the card. I created a belly band for the notebook and added another image from the same collection and again glittered it up. You can see the set together below….

And a view of just the notebook….

Make sure to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the DT’s creations!

Biking fun….

I am stopping by with a quick little project I have made using some chipboard from Scrap Kreatura. I altered a little notebook with some cheery orange scraps and washi tape. To finish it all off I added a chipboard bike from Scrap Kreatura. These are just adorable! I painted it to match the papers and then added a layer of glossy accents over the top of it all to give it more dimension.

A close up of the bike and the shine the glossy accents gives it….

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope the weather is not as wet and miserable where you are as it is here in Ireland!!

Patriotic!

This week at Sentimental Sundays we want you to show your Patriotism! Your projects should use the colours of your countries flag, plus a sentiment of course!! We also have a bonus for you to use again, it is the sketch below. This one is by me again!

Nicole sketch 1

I used the sketch to alter a notebook. As I am from Ireland my flag is green, white and orange. Not a great colour combo to work with, unless its Halloween! I used a mix of papers I found in my scrap pile so no idea on who they are by etc. I added a star coated in glossy accents to add a bit of shine. My sentiment is from a Tim Holtz set that I stamped out and cut up to fit.

Thanks for stopping by, have a nice Sunday!!

Note to Alice….

I have a new addiction – altering mini notebooks! For this one I used this super fun Alice stamp that my friend Timi gave me ages ago. Thanks Timi!! I coloured the image and then masked it with masking fluid and inked up the background with distress ink (the new Peacock Feathers colour). I then added some water drops to it to distress up the background a bit. I then cut this panel down to fit the notebook and edged it all with tissue tape.

So quick, easy and fun!

I love the big goggly eyes on this Alice!!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

I had fun altering a little notebook to keep in my bag. I distressed and inked the edges of my papers and then tore the top layer to reveal the paper underneath. The papers are BoBunny’s Weekend Market, I love them!!

Have fun with this challenge, its a super fun one!

Altered notebook..

Hi everyone and a belated Happy Christmas! There was just too much going on to get a blog post up before the holidays. I am just sharing this cute notebook I made as a gift for Christmas. I love the colour combination on it, teal and mustard.

I actually used a Kraft album from Crafty Cutting to make this. I painted the cover with white gesso and then used a stencil and teal coloured paint to put the bird on the branch on the cover. When this was dry I then inked it up with mustard distress ink. I added a little bit of bling and that was it done. On the inside the pages are glued together at the bottom so that they created pockets for storing ticket stubs etc in as well as writing notes.

I hope you are all having a great time over the holiday season, enjoy!!
