Loopy for ladders!

During the summer last year we found a really old wooden ladder hidden in the under growth at the end of our garden. It was very cool with pieces of old metal hardware on it and all. I was determined to use it in the garden somehow. It was very rotten but still very strong. Not putting body weight on it strong mind you! So I varnished it to seal it from the elements more and hung it on the wall over a newly built flower bed and small patio area. (Note-newly built flower bed, hence not much growth from the plants in it!!) I then hung some pots with ferns from the ladder and called it done

The garden is a constant work in progress but at least this little section is looking cute! I am linking this up to Funky Junk Interiors link party where it is all about ladders!!

Its time for another challenge over at Sentimental Sundays. Our theme is Feel the Love – you need to create something for Valentine’s day or some one you love. Make sure to include a sentiment as always. We are sponsored this week by Little Darlings stamps.

I created a very inky grungy card for my challenge. I created a inky background in shades of red and die cut a heart from red card. I used the heart as a mask and inked around it on three different paces on the card. I then stamped my sentiment numerous times on the heart and then adhered it to the card with foam for added dimension.

Wizardly Birthday!

I was asked to create a Harry Potter themed birthday card the other day. I have never read or seen Harry Potter (shocking I know!) so I went off and found a Harry Potter style digi, looked up some Harry Potter images for an idea of colours and off I went. I used the Harry Digital Stamp image from SimplyB stamps. I printed it on watercolour paper and coloured it with distress inks. I added some star patterned paper and some sparkly flourishes and a star and called it done! Hopefully the recipient - apparently a huge Harry Potter fan – likes it!

A third post from me today, apologies to any of my subscribers for flooding your in-boxes. But sometimes the mood to create strikes and you just have to give in! I created a door hanger. I painted a chipboard hanger green and then used Market Street Stamps wood grain stamp for the background. I really love this stamp! I then used my eCraft to cut out the leaves and stamped on them with the MMS Vintage Wallpaper stamp in Forest Moss distress ink to give them a extra bit of interest.

Its a bit hard to tell in the photo but all the leaves and the bird are adhered with foam tape to give some added dimension. I am entering this over at the Market Street Stamps Block Party. There are still a few hours over there to play if you are interested!

Dry Embossing

Hello everyone and welcome to another Sentimental Sundays challenge. This week we want to see Dry Embossing on your projects – plus the all important sentiment of course!! This week we are kindly sponsored by Heather Ellis. The design team were kindly given some of the Pure Innocence images to work with. You can see this range of images here.

I embossed some core’dinations with a script embossing folder to tie it in with the theme of the image – mail. I then sanded the raised embossed script and inked it with white ink. I love the adorable image. I added a postage stamp just to embellish within the theme of the image some more

Double challenge!

When I sat down to create something for the Skipping Stones Challenge I gave myself a extra challenge – to get rid of the pile of scraps on my desk while doing it! This was quite a challenge in the end as the scraps were from about 3 different projects so were all very different colours and didnt work with each other. So I picked the colours that I liked the most and then realised there was not enough of them to make a card. So I tried to incorporate the sketch into a tag….

I used the SSD grunge set for the wood grain back ground and then used the poem stamp from the uplifting set for the sentiment. Love these sets!!
