Bunny Diary….

Im a bit late showing this but I bought myself an A5 diary for E1.49 and knew the plain purple just wasn’t me. So I had fun altering it! I used paper scraps off my desk for it. I stamped the background with a Lawn Fawn background stamp and cut out a few hexagons to pop a bit of colour into it. I had so much fun with the vampire bunny too, do you see the pile of carrots? And the two that he has started to drain? This makes me laugh!

Now all I need to do is start using the diary rather than just staring at it all the time!

We three kings….

I had a request to make a card for a Spanish baby and was asked to make it more traditional to the Three Kings that the Spanish celebrate rather than Santa. I found an adorable three kings from Meljens. I used green and reds as my card base to get the traditional look and then coloured in the image with vibrant colours as the three kings would have had.  My green photographed very dark however and I was in a big rush to get the card delivered!

I painted on diamond dust glimmer mist on the gold crowns and the gifts the 3 kings were holding to give shimmer. Then I added some glossy accents to get even more gloss and dimension. I added some flourishes and bling and a custom sentiment printed out on my computer and called it done!

Busy bee!

I have not been blogging much because I have been such a busy bee!! I just wanted to share two quick cards I made a while back with some papers I made myself . The bees on the paper are from the Graphics Fairy. I created the paper and then aged up the paper and added a little banner sentiment with a bee stamp on it. The stamp by chance nearly exactly matches the bee DP!!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are all having crafty weekends!!

I created a large gift tag using the Bugaboo image of Morning Margaret. There are lots  of people I know like this so it will be perfect for one of them. I am one of those annoying early morning people who is up and fresh as a daisy no matter how early! I created this tag using entirely scraps from my scrap pile, with the exception of the water colour paper Margaret is printed on. Even the washi tape and seam binding were in the scrap pile!

Thanks for stopping by, and make sure to check out the rest of the design teams super fun creations!!

Focus on the sentiment….

Its time for another challenge from PaperPlay Challenges! This week we want to see your sentiment as your main image.  We are kindly sponsored this week by Whiff of Joy with a stamp up for grabs as the prize!

I decided since everyone else is doing it that I should start too – make Christmas items! I decided to make a tag as I never have enough of them when it comes to wrapping gifts. So I am planning on tipping away at creating them. I used a Waltzing Mouse Stamps set for my Christmas sentiment. I love this set, so perfect for all Christmas occasions. I used some Christmas paper from last year (Bo Bunny I think) that I dug out from my scrap pile.

I added the tissue tape to the bottom and a feather, some flourishes and the bird which I tried to turn into a robin! I love how the sentiment really pops out on this tag even with everything going on.

Make sure to head over to the PaperPlay challenge blog to see what the other design team members have created – stunning work as always! Then make sure to enter and share your work with us!!

House warming gift

I recently made a house warming gift for a couple that have just moved into their new house that they had built. Because they had built the house they had a lot of stuff already so I didn’t know what we could get them. So I decided to create them a piece of art to commemorate their new house. I got a photo of their house and turned it into a silhouette. I then added their names in a fun font and a heart on the house. I used digital papers from Sarah Hurley Designs from the Retro Home kit, and the heart is also from that kit from the embellishments section. I love how versatile this kit is!!

Clean and Simple fun

This week at Sentimental Sundays we are going Clean and Simple (CAS). We are sponsored this week by Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

We also have a bonus sketch for you this week. If you use the bonus you get a second entry into the challenge.

Quite ironically I created this weeks sketch but forgot to use it when making my card. Whoops!! I did use a image from Bugaboo, the Butterfly Silhouette. I printed it and a sentiment directly onto a card blank and added a bit of colour to it. I then scored a border around it and added a gem. Super clean and simple and fast!

I find it so hard to get a good picture of white cards, sigh! Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to check out the rest of the DT”s beautiful CAS work!

Paint Fun!

This week at Sentimental Sundays we want to see you use paint on your projects! We are kindly sponsored by Digital Delights by Louby Lou….

We have a bonus again this week and it is the following sketch. If you use the sketch you get a second bonus entry to the challenge….

Nicole sketch 5

For my card I painted two panels of water colour paper in a teal paint. When this was dry I used a paint called Bamboo Green to stencil the bamboo on the teal panel. I also stenciled some onto the card blank. I then stamped with this colour onto the 3 banners and added my sentiment on over this. It was a quite quick card to make one paint was dry, but I did make a superb mess making it!! :D
